Register to vote
Voter Registration Deadline: Tuesday, May 14
The first step to participating in the voting process is to make sure that you are registered to vote! And if you think you are registered, it is best to check your registration just to make sure it is up to date. Registering or checking is super easy and only takes a few minutes!
Research your ballot
It is important to get to know who and what is on your ballot, whether it is the President or a School Board Member. Click on the "what's on my ballot button" and enter your address so you can see who is on your ballot and what they believe, so you can be an informed voter!


Vote by mail
Deadline to Request an Absentee Ballot: Tuesday, May 28
Absentee Ballot Return: Postmarked by June 4, 2024 at 8:00PM and received by Monday, June 10
Voting by mail is easy and convenient! Whether you are away at school, busy with work, or just don't want to leave the house, you can request a ballot and vote from the convenience of your home, you never need to miss an election!
Vote early in-person
Early Voting Period: Saturday, May 25 - Sunday, June 2
Do you want to vote in-person but won't be able to make it to the polls on Election Day? No problem! In New Jersey we have an early voting period, with multiple locations throughout Essex County! If you are an Essex County resident, you can go to any location in Essex and cast your ballot easily!
